An all-inclusive guided Rinjani trek is USD 210 per person for two days, USD 250 for three. That covers the licensed guide, the porters, every meal on the mountain, the camping gear, the transport on Lombok, the night in Senaru before you set off, and the national park permits. There is nothing left to buy at the gate.
You reserve your place with a deposit of USD 30 per person, paid online. It comes off the trek price rather than sitting on top of it, and you hand the rest to your guide in cash on Lombok.
Quotes for this mountain run from USD 120 to 675 for what looks like the same walk, which is why a straight answer is hard to come by. Below is where my number comes from: what every package costs, what the price does not cover, what the trip works out to door to door from Bali, and which park rules a cheaper quote has to leave out.

The numbers you are actually comparing
All per person, all-inclusive, before anything you rent or tip. A shared trek costs the same for everyone on the date; a private one costs more because you are not sharing the guide and porters.
Every package, and what it costs
There are five routes and all of them are all-inclusive, so what separates them is not what is in the price. It is how many nights you sleep on the mountain, and whether you share your guide or have him to yourselves.
Rinjani Summit

This is the choice that moves the price most. The mountain is the same either way, the guides are the same and the food is the same. What you are choosing is who else walks with you.
Join a shared group
The 2-day Rinjani Summit and the 3-day Summit, Lake & Hot Springs run as shared groups: USD 210 and USD 250 per person. You pay the same per-person price whether you turn up alone or with four friends.

Run it private
Nobody joins who you did not bring, from 1 to 10 people. The difference is not the mountain or the guides, it is transport, space and the camp itself. Per-person prices step down as your own group grows. Second Summit, Ultimate Rinjani and Rinjani & Sangkareang are private only.

On a shared trek everyone on the date pays the same, whether there are two of you or six. A few dates already on the calendar are cheaper, and you see that price in the date list when you book.
To hold a place you send a free request. Once I confirm your date you pay a deposit of USD 30 per person online. It is part of the trek price, not an addition to it. The balance is a fixed rupiah amount that you hand your guide on Lombok, so it does not move with the exchange rate between the day you book and the day you arrive.
Changing your date is free, even after your park permit has been bought. The deposit itself is not refundable, because the arrangements start as soon as it arrives, but it never expires worthless: it stays valid for twelve months for any new date. The exact arrangement, including what happens if you move your date a second time, is in the booking terms.
What is in the price, and what is not
All-inclusive means the mountain is covered from the pickup to the drop-off. Two things sit outside it: getting yourself to Lombok in the first place, and whatever you decide to give the team at the end.
Included in every package
- Private transport. Pickup anywhere on Lombok and drop-off in Mataram, Senggigi or Bangsal Harbour.
- The night before. One night's hotel accommodation in Senaru village, before the trek starts.
- Every meal on the mountain. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, hot drinks and mineral water.
- All the camping gear. Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, toilet tent and cooking equipment.
- Licensed guide and porters. The people who carry, cook and get you back down.
- Park entrance and permits. Rinjani National Park, 250,000 IDR per person per day, arranged for you.
Not included
- Personal hiking gear. Boots, jacket, headlamp, trekking poles. Rentable locally; my full gear list says what you actually need.
- Travel insurance. Required, and your policy is checked before the permits are arranged.
- Tips for guides and porters. Optional, never expected, and they go straight to the team at the end.
- Personal expenses and souvenirs. Whatever you spend on yourself around the trek.
- The fast boat or flight from Bali. Getting to Lombok is on you; the transfer from the port or airport is not.
The whole trip, costed from Bali
Getting to Lombok is the one cost the package cannot carry, so here is the whole thing added up: a 2-day trek, door to door from Bali and back. The only real decision is how you cross. Five hours on the water, two and a half each way, or forty-five minutes in the air.
By fast boat
The cheaper crossing. Padangbai to Bangsal harbour is about two and a half hours each way, and with the drive at both ends you should reckon on most of a day in transit.

Joining a date that already has people on it costs the same USD 210. What it changes is the company on the trail, not the price.
By plane
Forty-five minutes gate to gate with Wings Air or TransNusa, several a day. You land at Lombok International and the trek team collects you there, so the pickup costs nothing extra.

Fares run from USD 35 to 80 one way depending on how far ahead you book. Airport pickup and drop-off are included in every package.
For a 3-day trek, add USD 40 to the package: USD 250 instead of USD 210. Tipping is customary at the end but never expected, and it is not built into these totals; if you want to, USD 20 to 30 between the guide and the porters is normal.
Whatever you land on, there is no cheaper legitimate way to trek Rinjani with a licensed guide. That is worth holding on to when a quote comes in well under these numbers, because something has been left out of it, and it is usually the permit.
What a cheap Rinjani price is actually for
On 18 September 2026 we read the price pages of the five operators ranking on the first page of Google for Rinjani trek prices, and wrote down every number. They ran from USD 120 to USD 675. That is not five different mountains. It is mostly five different walks.
USD 120 per person
Two days on Pergasingan Hill, a ridge near Sembalun that looks across at Rinjani. It is a fine morning out and it is honestly described on the operator's own page. It is also the cheapest number on the first page of Google, and it is not Rinjani.
USD 130 per person
Two days to the crater rim, turning back before the summit. The park entrance fee is not in it; that is paid separately at the gate.
USD 155 per person
One day, up and back down the same afternoon. No camp, no sunrise, no summit.
USD 190 to USD 235 per person
Two days to the crater rim again, priced by group size. The lower end needs eleven to sixteen people walking behind one guide.
USD 220 per person
Two days to the summit, which is the same trek we run. The price holds at six to ten people in the group. Park fees, the night before and insurance are not listed either way.
USD 675 per person
Four days, walking alone with your own guide and porters. The top of the range is a private trip, not a better mountain.
Of those five, none had a lower all-in price for the two-day summit than ours, and the numbers that undercut us were for the rim, for a single day, or for a different hill. That is the whole trick: read what the walk is before you read what it costs. Our USD 210 is the summit, at any group size, with the permit, the transfers and the night in Senaru already in it.
The 2026 park rules, and why cheap treks are cheap
Where the walk really is the same, the rest of the spread is licensed guides against unlicensed ones, permits included against permits you pay at the gate, meal quality, what the porters are paid, whether anyone is insured, and what the quote quietly leaves you to arrange yourself. Several of the rules below are new for 2026. They are not our rules. They are the national park's, and they apply to every operator on the mountain.
Every group is led by a licensed guide
A licence is checked at the trailhead. It is also one of the reasons a USD 130 package is USD 130: a cheap trek puts ten or twelve people behind a single guide, which is exactly when nobody notices that someone at the back has stopped drinking.
Porters carry a maximum of 25 kg
Under the old free-for-all a porter took whatever fitted, sometimes 40 kg, in flip-flops. A cap means more porters per group, and more porters cost more. That is what the rule is for.
Permits run through e-Rinjani and are tied to your passport
You get a QR code that is checked at the gate. The name on it has to match your passport, which is why I ask for a photo of it before the trek. A permit bought under someone else's name does not get you through. The system is run by the Rinjani National Park authority, not by us or any operator.
Trekking insurance is compulsory
Since March 2026 the park requires it, so a policy covering trekking to 3,726 m is no longer a nice-to-have. What it needs to cover.

The bed and the transfers are mine, not the park's
No rule says an operator has to house you the night before or get you to the trailhead, which is exactly why a cheaper quote can leave both out. Every package here includes a night in Senaru village before you set off, pickup anywhere on Lombok, and a drop-off afterwards in Mataram, Senggigi or Bangsal Harbour. Kuta, the airport or Lembar is possible too, for a small extra fee. A quote without them is lower on the page and higher by the time you have booked a room and paid for two transfers yourself.
All of it is arranged for you
Every one of these sits inside the package price, so there is nothing for you to buy or sort out at the gate. It is worth knowing anyway, because of everything on this page, group size is the one thing you can ask another company about and check for yourself before you pay.
