How fast it actually goes

Today
Pick your trek and date. Two minutes on the booking page, free to send. We check the date and confirm it with you, usually within hours.
Tomorrow
We come to you. Boat from the Gilis to Bangsal is 15-30 minutes; we collect you at the harbour. On Bali, take the fast boat or the 25-minute flight. Pickup anywhere on Lombok is included. You sleep at our guesthouse in Senaru, meet Zainal, and get the briefing.
Day after
The trek begins around 8:00. You camp on the crater rim that night, and at 2 am you start the final climb: sunrise at 3,726 m, the one you came to Indonesia for.

Dates move fast in high season. If nothing here fits, pick your own date on the booking page and a group usually forms around it.

What it costs

  • 2-day summit trek: $165 per person in a shared group.
  • 3-day summit, lake & hot springs: $185 per person in a shared group. The favourite.
  • Private treks: from $200 per person, your own group and pace.

All-inclusive, honestly. Guide, porters, meals, camping gear, park permits, the guesthouse night before, and pickup. You pay $20 per person online to reserve; the rest in cash on Lombok.

Prices are in US dollars: $185 is roughly . Your bank converts the online part automatically, and the cash part is a fixed rupiah amount agreed in USD.

Fresh meals served at the crater rim camp: burgers, fries and carved fruit

Bring these three things

  • Your passport: needed for the park permit.
  • Travel insurance that covers trekking to 3,726 m; a screenshot of your policy is fine.
  • Cash in rupiah for the remaining balance. Sembalun and Senaru have no ATMs; withdraw at Bangsal, the airport, or ask the driver to stop on the way. Everyone does.

Warm layers and decent shoes matter more than fancy gear; see the packing list. No tent, no stove, no sleeping bag needed. That is all carried and set up for you.
